Tucson ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
We offer ACLS classes in Tucson, Pima County Arizona as well as Southern Arizona. Firehouse CPR, ACLS and First Aid offers Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification training using the latest guidelines from The American Heart Association’s standards and guidelines for management of the patient in cardio-respiratory arrest.
This class is required for all medical professionals needing ACLS and offers the importance of Basic Life Support CPR with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support interventions. ACLS is a systematic approach to providing care to victims who have suffered a cardiac arrest and Firehouse ACLS offers a challenging and useful way to learn the skills that make a difference in saving lives. A lively, low-stress class environment, with a focus on a team approach to medical emergencies has proven to be an essential and rewarding to the participants.
Through the ACLS course, professionals will be able to enhance their skills in the treatment of a victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Firehouse ACLS understands the importance of effective team interaction and communication and we use our trained instructors to encourage active, effective, hands-on participation throughout the learning process to help ensure effective resuscitation skills.
Course Description:
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest (current BLS card is required to take this course).
EMS & Medical providers that respond to cardiac emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment abilities through the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training. From basic life support to advanced interventions and from airway management to pharmacology, professional caregivers enhance their skills to save lives. Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies including victims of stroke. The course emphasizes the:
- Importance of basic life support (BLS) CPR to patient survival
- Integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
- Importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.

- IV/IO Access
- Synchronized Cardioversion
- Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics
- Defibrillation
- Rhythm Recognition
- Use of medications associated with ACLS
- Transcutaneous Pacing
Book Requirement Notice:
The American Heart Association requires all participants to have a course booklet before, during and after your course at our facility. Each participant must either already have purchased (in the past), be in possession of, or have access to course booklets at their place of employment at all times (hospital, etc.) in order to be exempt from having to purchase a book. Should this not be the case, then you are to purchase a course booklet either directly online from the AHA or from us at our facility.
Prerequisites:
Student must bring with them to class
- Current valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider CPR card
- 2015 AHA ACLS Provider Manual
- Pretest with a passing score of 84% or better
Certificate: 2 year American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course completion card upon completion of the course.
